Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: When Tatsumi and Mine bump into each other, Mine tries to shoot him for accidentally touching her chest, something he isn't even aware of. Shirou provides them with many of his traced weapons, which are more durable than the regular kind and can survive being used by them, making them very grateful. Does Not Know His Own Strength: It is mentioned that the Heiwa tribe doesn't normally use weapons because they are so strong that any weapon they try to use breaks. The shards turn into powder that blows over everyone and makes them glow white, black, or grey according to their alignment, letting Shirou and his allies know who to kill. Detect Evil: At the battle of the Kalance Plains, Shirou turns Caliburn into a Broken Phantasm and shatters it. Though he briefly interacts with Night Raid, he doesn't join them. Demoted to Extra: Tatsumi only appears in the background as one of the many refugees to Calla alongside his friends Ieyasu and Sayo. Death by Childbirth: It is briefly mentioned Selka's mother died giving birth to her. The Consigliere: Elaine Bukerfield is Shirou's personal assistant, and she's all too willing to give cold-blooded orders behind his back if she thinks he stands to benefit from it. When Akame becomes attracted to Shirou, she becomes just as jealous of potential rivals. 
Selka has a crush on Shirou and sees Elaine and Akame as love rivals. Honest, on the other hand, sees their existence as a threat to his rule and wants them all dead. Children Are Innocent: When Makoto learns that he has surviving relatives, he gets excited by the prospect of new playmates. It takes Leone and Akame confirming it for her to believe them. Cassandra Truth: Tatsumi and Ieyasu spot Shirou held captive in an Empire camp and attempt to report it, but Sayo thinks they are being idiots because she was not aware that Shirou had been captured. When Leone challenges her and Shirou to a drinking contest, she gets drunk after one glass. Can't Hold His Liquor: Selka had never tried alcohol before. Lubbock develops a phobia of thunder after seeing this, as he now can no longer tell if it's just regular thunder or Shirou using the weapon. Bolt of Divine Retribution: Shirou using Hrunting to kill the lord of Hageshi is interpreted as this, as the weapon's advent is preceded by a clap of thunder. Leone eventually puts a stop to it by pointing out she is acting crazy and judging by how Shirou attempts to avoid fighting and minimize casualties, her actions would not impress him. 
Akame becomes obsessed with one-uping Selka and impressing Shirou by killing more enemies than Selka.
Body-Count Competition: A one-sided example. She doesn't say anything in Chapter 29, but Shirou can sense the bloodlust rolling off of her just by looking at her. Black-and-Gray Morality: Both the Empire and the Revolutionary Army want to conquer Calla for their own reasons, and the only thing keeping the latter in the Gray area is the fact that the former is pitch-black. Big Badass Battle Sequence: The battle of the Kalance Plains is shaping up to be one, with three armies, each with their own groups of badasses, square off for control of the Empire. Then, since he can't pick it up, all he can do is make it disappear. The only way he can use it is to materialize it in the sky and make it fall on his target. However, since it is so huge, he can't exactly wield it, and it costs so much mana to make that he can only make it once per battle. Awesome, but Impractical: Ig-Alima, the Mountain Felling Sword, is one of Shirou's most powerful weapons and can easily destroy fortresses or really huge Danger Beasts. The tribal leaders of Wakoku, minus the ones who seek refuge in Calla, are a bunch of petty, self-important assholes. Prime Minister Honest and his clique are as wretched as ever, wanting to conquer Calla in order to plunder its supposed wealth and enslave the inhabitants. 
Esdeath is also attracted to Shirou for his strength. The super strong Selka becomes more and more attracted to Shirou whenever he does something powerful like using Ig-Alima, the Mountain Felling Sword or hurling a mook across a field. By the time she finds Shirou, her feet are dirty and have blisters. When Selka and Elaine imply Shirou was injured, Akame frantically jumps out of bed and runs around town looking for him, forgetting to put her shoes on (or any other clothes besides the hospital gown she woke up in). Agony of the Feet: Akame gets injured in battle and later wakes up in bed.
